“[The song] Gainesville is this guy who is looking back on this early life with some nostalgia for a simpler time. I love the song.”

With the release of a new (old) song by Tom Petty (Gainesville) and a video of old (and new) 8mm footage shot mostly around Petty’s hometown of Gainesville, Florida, I think the revival in 8mm film is now in full swing.
I haven’t made an 8mm film since I was a film student at the University of Miami, but I’m thinking that between now and the end of 2019 I’m going to shoot some project with a super 8 camera and film.
P.S. The Gainesville music video was directed by Brantley Gutierrez.
