“One thing I’ve learned is that if you really concentrate on something, your mind will get more creative.”
Stan Lee
Here’s a hint if you are interested in blogging everyday (or ideas in general); You have to always be looking for original content. And then you simply have to write down what you find. The other day on a flight from Minneapolis to Milwaukee I found an interesting article in the Air Tram magazine on comic book creator Stand Lee.
The article was written by Paul Tullis and Scott Smith (no, not me) and they stated that books based on Lee’s characters Spider-Man, Iron Man, X-Men and The Incredible Hulk have sold nearly 2 billion comic books. Not to mention those characters have resulted in quite a few box office dollars.
The 86-year Lee, who was once the president of Marvel Comics, had humble beginnings growing up during the depression in New York City and started out writing obituaries. He joined the Army in 1942 and during World War II wrote manuals military manuals and films.
Since that time he has been amazingly productive in the creation of his comic books heroes who have come to life resulting in as long a list as anyone of TV and film credits. So what his creative secret?
“Don’t try what you want to do. Take a creative approach to something that already has a track record of success.”
