The two met in 1992 in a film class at Colorado, and according to Wikipedia their first project together was a stop motion film that features prototypes of the main characters in Comedy Central’s South Park —which is the second longest-running animated series in the U.S. behind The Simpsons.

Last Friday I had dinner and walked around Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall area which is a four block pedestrian mall. If that area has a sister city in terms of feel it is Iowa City around the University of Iowa. (The main difference is Boulder sits at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and marijuana isn’t legal in Iowa.)
And I should also mention that screenwriter & Scriptnotes podcaster John August was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. (Though he actually did his undergraduate work at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.)
P.S. I saw this Be Boulder. In FILM sign and thought I’d provide you a link to the Film Studies program at CU. Any readers of this blog attend or graduate from that program?
P.P.S. The Yonder Mountain String Band was playing in Boulder last week. I didn’t catch the show, but they have a nice sound and I might catch their February show here in Orlando.
